INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.— Senior
Daniel Barrientos represented the Hobart swimming and diving team this afternoon at the 2026 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving National Championships. Barrientos put on an impressive performance, diving to First Team All-American status after securing seventh place out of 24 divers from the 3-meter board.
Barrientos earned his second career All-American recognition from the 3-meter board after a strong showing at IU Natatorium this afternoon. In the preliminary round, he earned an 11-dive score of 498.95, securing fifth place and a spot in the Championship Final for the first time in his career.
In the evening's championship finals, Barrientos posted a six-dive score of 489.20 to finish seventh place overall. His seventh-place finish was the best finish at the national championships since Peter Taylor '92 finished sixth on the 3-meter board in 1990. At this year's national championships, Denison's Nick Fogle was crowned the national champion from the 3-meter board with a final score of 530.35.

Barrientos will be back in action Friday, March 20, when he competes on the 1-meter board at the NCAA National Championships. Preliminary dives are set for 1 p.m. with the finals set for 6 p.m. at IU Natatorium.
