Casey Fiore was named the conference's defensive performer of the week and first-year
Cat Colvin netted her second straight rookie of the week award. Junior
Katie Grottenthaler earned a spot on the weekly honor roll.

In addition, William Smith (7-1, 3-0) held at No. 8 in the IWLCA poll and at No. 5 in the USA Lacrosse Magazine poll. The Herons went 2-1 last week, bouncing back from a 17-11 loss to No. 4 Salisbury on Monday with a pair of wins over Liberty League opponents. On Friday, William Smith beat Clarkson 16-0 and then took down St. Lawrence 13-4 on Saturday.

Fiore went 2-1 in goal with a 7.00 GAA and a .553 save percentage. Against the Sea Gulls, she made a season-high 11 saves and had a ground ball. She bounced back on Friday, recording a seven-save shutout against the Golden Knights. It was William Smith's first shutout since 2019. On Saturday, Fiore stopped eight shots against the Saints. Fiore is 7-1 with a 6.74 GAA and a .400 save percentage.

Colvin had eight points on six goals and two assists last week. Colvin scored twice against Salisbury and added a ground ball. In the Clarkson game, she recorded a goal and an assist. Against St. Lawrence, Colvin produced her first collegiate hat trick and tacked on an assist to match her career-high with four points. She also had a caused turnover and a ground ball to set up the game-winning goal. Colvin has played in all eight games this season. She is tied for the team lead with 21 points on 13 goals and eight assists.

Grottenthaler led William Smith with seven goals last week. She had a season-high four goals, two ground balls and three draw controls in the Herons' loss to the Sea Gulls. Against the Golden Knights, Grottenthaler scored once, had three draw controls and a ground ball. She tacked on two goals in the win over St. Lawrence. Grottenthaler has started seven games this year. She has 13 points on 12 goals and an assist. She is second on the team with 15 draw controls.

William Smith will be back in action on Saturday, March 28, when it welcomes Vassar to Geneva. The opening draw is scheduled for 11 a.m.
