The eighth-ranked William Smith lacrosse team will be back at home this weekend to host Liberty League foe Vassar on Saturday, March 28. The opening draw is scheduled for 11 a.m.
Due to tomorrow's forecast the game will be played in the Poole Family Dome. Spectator seating is limited due to the fire code. Only fans on the teams' pass lists will be admitted.
Saturday will be the Herons' Breast Cancer Awareness game. William Smith will be teaming up with Thrive to Survive to support cancer patients in their fight. Thrive to Survive is dedicated to providing emotional and financial support to individuals in Ontario, Seneca, Yates, Schuyler and Wayne Counties, who are battling serious illnesses, such as breast cancer, helping ease the burden so they can focus on healing and recovery.

In addition, members of the Willim Smith lacrosse team will be wearing pink shirts during warmups and have pink bows in their hair. The Herons will also be honoring those close to them who have been impacted by cancer, including survivors and those currently fighting, welcoming them to join in pregame introductions.

- Junior Cat Colvin (13g, 8a) and junior Mia Falco (9g, 12a) lead the Herons with 21 points each. Falco leads the Herons in assists.
- Junior Grace Rund leads William Smith with 15 goals and 60 draw controls. Rund is 10th in the nation in draw controls per game (7.50) and leads a draw unit that is eighth in the nation in draw control percentage (.669).

ABOUT THE BREWERS (5-2, 0-2)
- Vassar's offense is led by Tess Billings. She has 27 goals and 30 points.
- Elizabeth Burgess paces the team with nine assists.
- Emilia DiLiberto has a team-high 33 draw controls, and Maddie Kaltsas is right behind her with 32.
- Emily Kallman leads the Brewers with 13 caused turnovers and 15 ground balls.
- Maddie Busam has played the majority of the minutes in goal. She is 2-1 with a 10.65 GAA and a .475 save percentage.
SERIES HISTORY
- Friday's game will be the 24th meeting between William Smith and Vassar.
- The Herons lead the all-time series 21-2, including a 12-0 record in Geneva.
