5 Herons earn All-American Scholar honors

Five members of the William Smith hockey team were named 2025-26 Krampade All-American Scholars presented by the American Hockey Coaches Association. The Herons are among the 444 student-athletes honored from Division II and Division III this year.
 
To be named an All-American Scholar, student-athletes must have a minimum GPA of 3.75 in each semester and appear in 40% of the team's games. Exceptions are granted to injured players and backup goaltenders.
 
The following players represented William Smith:

Gallagher is a three-time selection (2023, 2025, 2026) while Chase and Howe secured the honor for the second year in a row.

Since 2017, William Smith hockey has earned 58 AHCA All-American Scholar awards.
 
The Herons finished the season with a 12-15-0 record. William Smith went 7-7-0 in its inaugural season in the SUNYAC, finishing fourth in the conference standings. William Smith advanced to the semifinals of the conference tournament before falling to eventual SUNYAC champion Plattsburgh.
