Tournament Scores
CORTLAND, N.Y.—The William Smith golf team competed in the Martin/Wallace Invitational at the Cortland Country Club this weekend. The Herons finished eighth out of 10 teams on the par 72, 5,814-yard course.
Senior
Lauren Carlson led William Smith with the team's low rounds on Saturday and Sunday. She carded an 84 through the first 18 holes and an 86 in the final round, tying for 15th place in the 51-golfer field.
Seniors
Brittany Furlong and
Katrina Carey and sophomore
Trilbey Smith completed the Herons' scoring. Furlong was 39th (102-101-203), while Carey (104-104-208) and Smith (108-100-208) tied for 42nd.
NYU's Theresa Apoznanski won medalist honors with a nine-over 153 for 36 holes. Methodist won the team title by 30 strokes over the Violets. William Smith was 10 strokes ahead of ninth place Nazareth and just two strokes behind seventh place Elmira.
William Smith will close out its fall season on Oct. 17-18, when the Herons tee it up in the Nazareth Invitational.
