GENEVA, N.Y.—On Senior Day, the William Smith swimming and diving team picked up a pair of dual meet victories today in Bristol Pool. The Herons defeated Cazenovia 63-39 and Wells 64-38. The Wildcat women tops the Express 57-43 while the Wells men got revenge, besting Cazenovia 56-49.

The dual meet victories raised William Smith Head Coach Kelly Kisner's career record to 150-81-1 (.649) in 23 seasons. She has more career dual meet victories than the other five head coaches in Heron history combined.

William Smith enjoyed a significant advantage in terms of depth and experience over both Cazenovia and Wells, earning its victories without a single swimming winning more than one individual event.

In fact, sophomore Sally Storch was the only swimmer involved in a pair of triumphs. She teamed with first-year Kyra Brown, first-year Samantha Burnett, and sophomore Mimi Mahoney to captured the first event of the day, the 400-yard medley relay, in 4:33.46. Storch also emerged from the pool victorious in the 50 freestyle, leading a 1-2 Heron sweep with a time of 27.16. Senior Emily Rogowski finished second.

Sophomore Lia Duffy led a 1-2 Heron finish in the 1,000 free, touching the wall in 11:46.25, ahead of runner-up, senior Caitlin O'Brien. First-year Christine Rhoads also led a 1-2 finish for William Smith, taking the 100 butterfly in 1:08.47 with Brown finishing second.

Senior Christina Hom won the 200 free in 2:16.29. First-year Emily Nalbone prevailed on the 1-meter board with a score of 153.35. First-year Leah Jacob captured the 100 free in 59.85 and junior Casey Sherwin provided the Herons final victory of the day with a 1:04.8 in the 100 backstroke.



William Smith competed in the final four events of the day as exhibition entries, including the 3-meter diving event. On the high board, senior Kaileigh Fowler outdueled classmate Amy Kievit 170.2-150.5.



The Express earned one victory thanks to Gabby Spencer's swim in the 200 individual medley (2:28.56) while the Wildcats got their lone triumph in the 100 breaststroke (1:16.27). Wells also earned first place points in the 500 free and 400 free relay due to the Herons' exhibition entries.

William Smith will be back in the pool on Saturday, Feb. 4, when the Herons compete in the Skidmore Sprint Invitational.
