ALFRED, N.Y.-The William Smith College swimming and diving team finished first in 11 of 13 events as they defeated Alfred 136-96 in Lebohner Pool this afternoon.

For the second time in as many meets, seniors
Caroline Conboy and
Kelsey Bohl, and first-year
Anna Leffler had a hand in three victories for the Herons. Leffler, Conboy, Bohl, and sophomore
Nicole Katchis opened the meet winning the 200-yard medley relay by seven seconds. They stopped the clock with a time of 1:57.31. Conboy claimed individual wins in the 1000 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke. In the 1000 free, she won by 11 seconds, posting a time of 11:42.94. Conboy then lowered her own Lebohner Pool record in the 100 breaststroke by one second. She cruised to a time of 1:06.49, 15 seconds ahead of teammate
Kelsey McElwain. Bohl emerged victorious in the 50 freestyle and the 100 butterfly. In the 50 free, she outtouched Alfred's Kristin Brown by six-tenths of a second. Her winning time was 26.01. Bohl won the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:04.25. Leffler claimed first place in the 200 individual medley for the second straight week with a time of 2:19.43. She also won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:04.49.

Sophomore
Kelley Mantz finished first twice and was second once in her three individual events. She finished first in the 200 free with a time of 2:10.62. In the closest race of the day, the 100 free, she beat Liz Schiffhauer by six-hundredths of a second, stopping the clock at 59.67. Â Mantz was second in the 500 free, finishing with a time of 5:57.74. It was the Saxons' lone individual win of the day. Alfred placed first and second in the 200 free relay to close out the meet.

On the diving board,
Therese Mandracchia was a double winner. She posted a score of 176.30 to claim the 1-meter board by 30 points. Fellow sophomore
Hannah Schley was third with a score of 144.90. Mandracchia won the 3-meter board, posting a score of 158.71.

William Smith will be back in the pool on Tuesday, Nov. 8, when it travels to Ithaca, N.Y. The meet with the Bombers is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
