Perron, Bonomo honored at William Smith banquet

William Smith College Head Tennis Coach Chip Fishback announced the winners of the team's annual awards at the Heron Athletics Banquet April 23. Junior Allie Perron earned the Mary Hosking Tennis Award as the team's MVP, and first-year Maggie Bonomo received the Elizabeth Laird Redway Heia '84 Tennis Coach's Award.

A two-time All-Liberty League second team singles selection, Perron exclusively played in the No. 1 spot, recording a 9-12 record. She defeated RIT's Amelia Ying 6-7, 6-1, 6-2 to contribute to the Herons' first conference win of the season. Perron recorded a team best 7-1 doubles record in conference play with junior Kate Foley. The pair earned All-Liberty League doubles honorable mention.

Perron has compiled a 14-17 career record in singles play.

In her first collegiate tournament, Bonomo won C flight singles and B flight doubles at the Mary Hosking Invitational. She anchored the No. 1 spot in doubles play this season with sophomore Dina Rigas, posting a 13-13 record. Bonomo ended the season with six consecutive singles wins.
