#22 Herons fall to Dickinson

NEW HAVEN, Conn.—The No. 22 William Smith College squash team fell 6-3 to No. 23 Dickinson this morning in the consolation semifinals of the Walker Cup at Yale's Brady Squash Center
 
First-year Marcela Marquez Martinez earned her eleventh win of the season, defeating Courtney Trail in the No. 1 spot. Senior Gabby Fraser won the first game against Lindsay Kuracina, and they battled in four more. Kuracina took the match at No. 2 winning 11-13, 11-7, 10-12, 11-4, 11-7. Junior Jo Pacheco fell at No. 3 in three games. Sophomore Molly Wachter dropped one game and then won the second, but fell 3-1 at No. 4.
 
The Red Devils captured Nos. 5-7 in three games. First-year Maia Dreishpoon won in three games in the No. 8 spot. Dreishpoon is now 14-6 overall this season. Senior Karina Lazaro defeated Catie Nolan in four games at No. 9.
 
The Herons will be back in action tomorrow, Sunday, Feb. 23, when they play No. 24 Hamilton in the consolation playoff at 8:30 a.m.
