6296Terrance A. Corcoran '78 was an outstanding lacrosse player at Hobart. He served as team captain in 1978. He was a member of the 1976 and 1977 NCAA College Division National Championship teams. The 1977 team finished the year with a perfect 15-0 record, one of only three undefeated seasons in over 100 years of Hobart lacrosse. Corcoran received the Judge Thomas Kane Memorial Award in 1977 (lacrosse MVP), and the Joseph N. Abraham Memorial Award (given to the athlete who perseveres through an injury) a year later. He led the nation in scoring as a senior, finishing his final collegiate season with 99 points on 48 goals and 51 assists. Corcoran was named the NCAA College Division Attackman of the Year in 1978 and played in the North-South All-Star game that same year.

When he graduated, his career goals, assists, and points totals were second all-time. At the time of his induction into the Hobart Athletic Hall of Fame, all three totals still ranked third among Statesmen.

Following graduation, Corcoran served as an assistant football coach in 1979, and in 1980-81, he was the assistant basketball and lacrosse coach. For the past 10 seasons, he has served as the head men's lacrosse coach at Washington (Md.) College, compiling a 103-46 with eight NCAA tournament appearances.
