James earned IWLCA All-America second team honors after her sophomore season. That year she played in all 17 games at midfield, helping the Herons to a 15-2 record. She was second on the team with 57 points, 36 goals and 21 assists. James led the team with 30 draw controls and added 30 ground balls and six caused turnovers.
