Garvey was named to the 2012 D3football.com All-America third team at offensive guard. He was the keystone for the Liberty League's top offensive line. The Statesmen led the conference in total offense, racking up 414.3 yards per game. Garvey and his fellow linemen were potent run blockers, clearing the way for 237.2 yards per game (26th in the nation). In the passing game, the Statesmen allowed just four sacks during the regular season and finished the year ranked 10th in the nation, allowing only 0.62 sacks per game.
