Hobart and William Smith Colleges Athletics

Angell performed for both of Hobart's lacrosse and football teams. In lacrosse he was selected as a Lacrosse Little All-American in both 1953 and 1954, he participated in the North-South All-Star game of 1956, and he received the Vandeverg Trophy (most improved) for lacrosse in 1956. In football he was selected as a third-team AP Little All-American in 1955 as well as being a part of Hobart's first undefeated football team in 1954.
