Barrientos concluded his collegiate career with All-American status on the 3-meter board after an impressive performance at the 2026 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving National Championships. In the preliminary round, Barrientos finished fifth in the 11-dive 3-meter competition with a score of 498.95, qualifying for the Championship Final for the first time in his career. In the evening’s championship finals, he posted a six-dive score of 498.95 to finish seventh place overall, securing First Team All-American status. His seventh-place finish was the best finish at the national championships since Peter Taylor '92 finished sixth on the 3-meter board in 1990. 

Barrientos capped a successful junior season at Hobart, earning NCAA and CSCAA All-American honors from the 3-meter board. He is the first Statesman diver to be named an All-American since Peter Taylor ’92 was in 1992. Barrientos secured second team All-American status after finishing 15th in the 11-dive 3-meter competition at the NCAA national championships with a score of 437.15. His impressive performance on the national stage capped a successful season that saw Barrientos post 19 top three finishes, including 11 victories, and five Liberty League Diver of the Week awards. At the Liberty League Championships, Barrientos finishes second on the 1-meter board and third on the 3-meter board, breaking all four school records, including 1-meter six and 11 dives and 3-meter six and 11 dives. His score of 399.05 also broke the Ithaca pool record for the 3-meter six dive competition.
