Burnett-Kurie is a two-time NSCAA third team All-American.
One of the top forwards in the region, Burnett-Kurie ended her career with 42 goals and 18 assists for 102 points. She became just the fifth Heron in the history of the program to record 100 career points, and now stands fourth on the all-time list.
A Liberty League Player and Rookie of the Year selection, Burnett-Kurie has been William Smith’s driving offensive force throughout her career. This fall, she led the team in assists with seven, and added seven goals. Burnett-Kurie led the team in scoring in each of the previous three seasons, including 41 points in 2005, just three behind Ann Haggerty’s ’92 all-time mark of 44 in 1988.Â
The four-time all-league and all-state pick and three-time NSCAA all-region honoree is also a standout in the classroom. Burnett-Kurie has earned ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honors three times, Academic All-America once, and is a three-time Liberty League All-Academic selection.Â
Over her four-year career, Burnett-Kurie led the Herons to a 56-13-8 record, including a 23-3-2 mark in the Liberty League. This year, she played a key role in the Herons’ first Liberty League Tournament Championship, 18th NCAA Tournament appearance. William Smith finished the season with a 17-1-1 overall record and ranked sixth in the final coaches poll.Â
