Moore was a three-time ICSAÂ All-American skipper, earning national recognition as a sophomore, junior and senior. He was a two-time ICSA National Champion, helping the Colleges capture the 2005 team race and coed dingy titles. Following his senior season, Moore was also named the winner of the Everett B. Morris Trophy, which is presented to the College Sailor of the Year.Â
Moore was twice named the recipient of the Hobart sailing MVP award and was voted the winner of the 2007 Francis L. "Babe" Kraus '24 Memorial Award.
Following graduation, Moore continued to pursue his passion for sailing, earning a spot on the U.S. National Team, competing in the 2012 London Olympics in the 49er class.
In 2015, Moore was lost at sea off Key Biscayne, Fla. The following year, the Hobart Sailing MVP award was renamed in his memory.
