A linebacker, Worthington was named to the D3football.com All-America second team in 2012 and received D3football.com All-America honorable mention in 2013.
In 2012, Worthington recorded 52 tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss, 10.0 sacks, and two interceptions. He recorded a season-high eight tackles at St. Lawrence. Worthington produced a then Hobart game record 4.5 tackles for loss against Geneva (Pa.) College. He notched both of his interceptions off of the Liberty League Offensive Player of the Year at Rensselaer.
In 2013, Worthington recorded 46 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, two pass breakups and two fumble recoveries. He logged a season-high 11 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and two sacks at Merchant Marine. Worthington notched five solo tackles, including three for a loss, at Rochester, breaking the Hobart career record for tackles for loss.
Worthington finished his career with 217 tackles, 62.5 tackles for loss (2nd on Hobart's career list), 30.5 sacks (3rd), eight pass breakups, eight fumble recoveries, five forced fumbles, three blocked kicks, three interceptions and scored three touchdowns (2 fumble returns, 1 blocked kick return).
