An offensive tackle, Marpet was named to three All-America teams following the 2014 season. He was named to the AFCA and D3football.com first teams and AP Little All-America second team. The 2014 Liberty League Co-Offensive Player of the Year and three-time first team All-Liberty League pick played in the Reese's Senior Bowl, the premier all-star game, and was invited to the NFL Combine. He was drafted in the second round of the NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 61st overall pick, Marpet was the highest drafted Division III student-athlete in the history of the modern draft.Â
In his senior season, Marpet led a dominant offensive line that ranked sixth in the nation in fewest sacks allowed (0.69/g) and fewest tackles for loss allowed (3.54/g). He helped Hobart rush for 200 yards or more six times this year, including a season-high 404 yards and six touchdowns against Merchant Marine. Marpet did not allowed a sack as the Statesmen advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals.
