Hobart and William Smith Colleges Athletics

Hobbs was named the 2018 MAISA Coed Sailor of the Year on his way to being named to the 2018 ICSA All-America oed skippers team. He skippered the Colleges to a third place finish at the ICSA Team Race Championship and won A Division of the ICSA coed eastern semifinal before guiding HWS to a fourth place finish in both A Division and as a team in the ICSA Coed Dinghy National Championship. Hobbs won A Division at the America Trophy. He helped HWS take home the team title, with a third place finish in A Division of the Admirals Cup, and earned first place finishes in the Admiral Moore Team Race and the Georgetown Team Race. In the fall, Hobbs skippered A Division that took first place as the Colleges won the War Memorial, and finished third in the MAISA Match Race.

Hobbs earned a spot on the 2017 ICSA All-America coed skippers team. He helped the Colleges finish second at the ICSA Match Race National Championship, and fifth at the ICSA Team Race National Championship and the ICSA Coed Dinghy National Championship. In addition to the success on the national stage, Hobbs was also a key contributor to the Colleges' MAISA Championships in the match race and coed dinghy events.
