McConnell was named first team NFHCA All-American in 2013 and the All-Liberty Defensive Player of the Year. That year, she led the Herons in defense which ranked second in the liberty league in goals allowed (35) and goals against average (1.74). McConnell was awarded the Charles P. Boswell II '50 award in 2013.
