Ancona earned D3football.com and Don Hansen's Football Gazette All-America honorable mention at punter in 2006. He led the league and ranked fourth in the nation with an average of 41.3 yards per punt. Ancona also led the league in yards per kickoff at 51.8. He boomed a season-long 65-yard punt against Union.
