Lyon was named to four All-America teams during his record-breaking career on the gridiron. The Hobart punter earned two All-America nods during his junior year and two more following his senior season.
Lyon became just the second Statesman to earn first team All-America honors from the Associated Press after ranking fourth in the nation in punting average in 2024. He was also named to the 2024 D3football.com All-America third team. Lyon's record-breaking season included an 86-yard punt against Ithaca, the longest punt in NCAA football that year. Lyon's 38 punts included 10 that traveled 50 yards or more and 10 that pinned the opponent inside its own 20.
Lyon garnered second team recognition from the AP and returned to the D3football.com third team after his senior year. He's the first Statesmen to average more than 40.0 yards per punt for his career.
